HB 1056: Concurring with Senate amendment on Military joint committee (Passed)

Speaker Brian Evans ...have sent an amendment we passed out of here and then by a very large margin off the floor. House Bill 1056 got down to the Senate end. We caught a word in there that we need to clean up. Changing from shall to may. Makes good sense. I agreed to the amendment, and I would ask this committee to concur in that as well.

Representative Shad Pearce Any questions? Anyone like to speak for or against in the audience? Okay. Your motion. Motion to adopt. All in favor? Those opposed likewise. Congratulations, Mr. Speaker. Concurrent Senate amendment. Yes. House Bill 1318. You're recognized, Representative Collins.

HB 1318: Creating an excursion boat alcohol permit (Passed)

Representative Andrew Collins Thank you, Mr. Chair. So this bill is about excursion boats. A couple of years ago, we created an excursion train permit which allows groups that offer train rides to serve alcohol via a certain type of permit. All this would do is take that existing permit and apply the same laws and restrictions to excursion boats.

The reason for this bill is there's a group out of Memphis that does paddle boat tours. They take 90 minute tours up and down the river. They serve drinks. They want to be able to do this in Little Rock on our river. We just need a permit form that would allow them to do that. And so hopefully it would be this economic development tool that we could have here and in other places where they want to do these excursion boats. Happy to answer any questions.

Representative Shad Pearce Any questions by the committee? I don't see any questions by the committee. I have one signed up to speak. Okay, for. Okay. You're denying that. Okay. With that said, would you like to close for your bill?

Representative Andrew Collins I'm closed for the bill and appreciate a good vote.

Representative Shad Pearce  All in favor, say aye. Those opposed likewise. Congratulations.

Representative Andrew Collins Thank you.

Representative Shad Pearce Seeing no further business, we're adjourned.
