Stacy Malcolm X Abram shot and killed Lazerick Jones, 26, in Earle, Arkansas, on May 7, 2021. Authorities said Jones died from a gunshot wound. Another man was injured in the same shooting and survived.

After the killing, Abram fled and remained at large for several months. U.S. Marshals arrested him in St. Louis, Missouri, in August 2021, and held him pending extradition to Arkansas.
Court records show prosecutors alleged Abram and his brother sought out the victim and shot him while he was inside a vehicle. At his plea hearing, Abram agreed with the prosecution’s factual account and acknowledged under oath that he was guilty of first-degree murder.
The homicide followed a series of earlier violent incidents involving Abram in Earle.
On November 26, 2020, authorities identified Abram as a suspect in the shooting of another Earle resident. That victim survived. U.S. Marshals arrested Abram in Cross County in connection with that shooting, but he was later released.
On February 17, 2021, deputies responded to reports of armed individuals at a Dollar General in Earle. The incident involved four related suspects, all named Stacy Abram. Three family members were arrested at the scene on various charges, including first-degree battery, illegal possession of a firearm, and furnishing a prohibited weapon to a felon. Investigators recovered multiple weapons from two vehicles, including a loaded AK-style rifle. Abram fled the scene and avoided arrest at that time. Authorities later said he was wanted in connection with a Thanksgiving Day shooting.
Following his arrest for the May 7 homicide, Abram entered a negotiated guilty plea to first-degree murder. The circuit court accepted the plea and sentenced him to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction, with additional suspended time related to a second-degree battery charge.
Abram was incarcerated on May 26, 2022, and is currently housed at the Cummins Unit. His projected earliest release date is October 12, 2028. Abram has a string of at least 8 felony charges dating back to 2014, including aggravated assault convictions in 2016 and 2019.
He is now aged 31 and has a long list of disciplinary actions in prison over the last two years: threats of injury, battery, refusal to obey orders, contraband, etc.
